The weekend of love is upon us again and I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Valentine's weekend. May all your days be filled with love from that special someone and just wanted give you some bible verses I know you'll love:

Romans 13:10 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

1 John 4:18
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.


Alot of people always say that they don't like christianity because they have like a bajillion rules to follow. Well that's actually a topic in and of itself to talk about another time cause most of those are manmade rules and not necessarily given by God. In fact in the new testament Jesus, when asked by a disciple of the pharisees about which law is the greatest, he narrows it down to just two. Love the Lord with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourselves. Obviously if you love someone you won't Lie, Steal, Cheat, or Murder them. Well if you love God with all your heart you would naturally not want to do that Because you love him.

In the same vien Let me ask you, would you in anyway try to harm your own body? Would you try and hurt yourself? Would you cheat yourself out of something? Would you put yourself into a precarious situation? No of course not! Well Christ says the same way you treat yourselves you should treat others. Again, obviously if you love someone you won't want to hurt, lie, Steal, or Murder them (you can pretty much apply any biblical commandment to at least one of these two commands.) Why because you love them. And you'll want to go out of the way for them because you love them so much fear wouldn't be a factor. You'd do anything for them. That's what love really is.

1 John 4:10

10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

And God is the perfect example of that. He didn't want to punish us for our wrongdoings that we commit, so he extended out the hand of grace, and gave us his son who came on rescue mission to rescue us from the place our own destructive nature was leading us to, and trust me Christ was afraid to die, in fact there is a bible verse where he cries out to God about it, but the thing is he loved us so much that his love overrode his fear, and ultimately he wanted to obey his father, because he loves God so much too. And so as the ultimate loving act, he gave himself wholy and truly, throughout his whole life AND his death, and gave himself like a lamb to the slaughter because it is what was required in order to save us. There was no other way around it and he loves us still.

So today let us love like Christ love. I'm not saying to go jump in front of a bus for someone. But rather wholly and truly, giving to make known that we care and love and in the same vein do even more to the God who loves. Because ultimately his love gives us life, a beautiful life.


Psalm 63:3

3 Because your love is better than life,
   my lips will glorify you.

Psalm 57:10

10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
   your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
